God Exists (But We Already Knew That)

Michael Behe
Relatively recent advances of knowledge in the area of life at the cellular level has led me to know, not to believe, that life was intelligently, purposefully designed (Michael Behe, The Edge of Evolution). Yes, the verdict is in. Life was created by an intelligent agent. We have come so far in the past thirty-forty years, in the areas of molecular biology, astronomy, and physics that we can now actually see the designer's signature, so to speak, all around us.
So who designed the life forms on Earth? Science can not answer that question yet. Science can only give us ample proof that a designer exists. There are clues, however. In the New Testament, in the book of Romans, starting at chapter 1, verse 18, we find astonishing words. Mostly this chapter outlines the consequences of sin, but read the following snippet (chapter 1, verse 20):

"...for since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-has been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made..." (italics mine)
That was written about 2,000 years ago, before anyone knew about genes, chromosomes, irreducible complexity, and DNA. We've always deeply felt, and suspected, that God exists. Those of us who have been in the room watching a child being born have felt it. There are other examples out there that cause people to have that very special feeling.

For millenia most people  have wondered how something as complex as life could have originated randomly out of nothing. Recent advances in science have only confirmed what we already know, and have known since the beginning of our time.
